A Black & White Staffordshire Pottery Dog. The pearlware-glazed dog is decorated with best (fired) gold gilded decoration to the collar and to the chain. The body & head are painted with feathered overglaze black patches. The eyes, mouth and muzzle are painted in black, yellow and pink/flesh overglaze enamel colours. The dog is well moulded, the fur detail is good and it has carefully applied facial features. Date of production is circa 1850-60.
· Dimensions: 23cm (8 ¾”) tall, 15cm (6”) wide and 10cm (4”) deep. · Weight: 880g. Total packaged weight is ~ 2kg. · Overall Condition: Excellent. · Repair/Restoration/Conservation: None. · Chips/Dents: None. · Cracks: None. · Other notes: Nice clean example with an uncrazed evenly applied glaze and very little wear or flaking of the enamels.
