A Staffordshire Pottery Spaniel Dog with separately moulded front leg. The dog is decorated with patches of blue/green underglaze colour. The underglaze colour is then covered with a soft pink/gold lustre (very similar to Sunderland lustre) resulting in a copper lustre finish. The eyes are painted in a black, the mouth and the muzzle are painted in black and red overglaze enamel. The padlock and collar are decorated with the lustre mentioned previously. Date of manufacture is circa 1880 (ref 1&2).
· Dimensions: 15cm (5”) tall (I have seen this mould in various sizes from 4 to 11 inches), 9cm (3 ½”) wide and 7cm (3”) deep. · Weight: The dog weighs 300g. Total packaged weight is <1kg. Overall Condition: Excellent. · Repair/Restoration/Conservation: None. · Chips/Dents: None. · Cracks: None. · Other notes: None.
