A Pair of Staffordshire Pottery Sitting Spaniel Dogs. The spaniels are decorated with underglaze black sponged patches and yellow chain & collar. The muzzle & eyes are painted with a black & yellow underglaze colour. The dogs are press moulded and are typical of the wares being produced during the late Victorian & Edwardian period across the Staffordshire region; date of production is circa 1880-1920 (ref.1). This mould was produced in at least three different sizes.
· Dimensions: 24cm (9”) tall, 20cm (8”) wide and 8cm (3”) deep. · Weight: 1050g & 950g. Total packaged weight is ~ 3-4 kg.
