A Pair of Victorian Pearlware-glazed Sitting Spaniel Mantle Dogs with free standing leg. Well-modelled and painted with fired (best) gold highlights and the usual gold collar, padlock and chain. The moulding and painted detail especially the facial features on both dogs is good.  The appealing upwards looking eyes and muzzle are painted with black, red and yellow/orange overglaze enamels. Date of production is circa 1860.

 

· Dimensions: 25cm (10”) tall, 20cm (8”) wide and 11cm (5”) deep.

· Weight: 1000g & 1100g. Total packaged weight is ~ 4-5kg.

· Overall Condition: Excellent.

· Repair/Restoration/Conservation: None.

· Chips/Dents: None.

· Cracks: None.

· Other notes: Nicely moulded separate leg pair with unstained crazing. Very minor loss of the black enamels on the muzzle of both <5mm x 5mm in size.
