A Staffordshire Porcelain Poodle Dog on Gold Lined Blue Base. The fine soft paste porcelain poodle sits on an underglaze blue, best gold lined rectangular base with step. The poodle dog is decorated with sieved clay to simulate the longer parts of the coat and the facial features are carefully applied with black, pink & red overglaze enamels. Date of manufacture is circa 1840 – 60 (ref 1).

 

· Dimensions: (5”) tall and sits on a 5.5cm (2 ½”) x 9cm (3 ½”) rectangular base.

· Weight: The weight of the group is ~220g. Total packaged weight is <600g.

· Overall Condition: Excellent.

· Repair/Restoration/Conservation: None.

· Chips/Dents: During the making glazed over chip to inside rim of base.

· Cracks: None.

· Other notes: A nice example potted from fine English soft            paste porcelain and a worthy addition if you have other poodle            or English Porcelain dog models.
