Price: £170

A Pair of Staffordshire Pottery Spaniel Dogs with separately moulded front legs. The lead glazed dogs are decorated with patches of green underglaze colour. The underglaze colour is then covered with a soft pink/gold lustre (very similar to Sunderland lustre) resulting in a copper lustre finish. The dogs are potted in fine white clay. The eyes, mouth and the muzzle are painted in black and red overglaze enamel. The padlock and collar are decorated with the lustre mentioned previously. Date of manufacture is circa 1880 (ref 1&2).
