A Pair of 6 ½ inch Victorian Staffordshire Pearlware glazed Spaniel Dogs. The dogs are well decorated with feathered overglaze red patches and best gold collar & locket. The staring eyes and muzzle are painted with black, yellow and red overglaze enamels. Date of production is circa 1850-60 (ref.1).
· Dimensions: 19cm (6 ½“) tall, 15cm (6”) wide and 8cm (3 ½”) deep. · Weight: 400& 370g. Total packaged weight is ~ 2kg. · Overall Condition: Excellent to Good. · Repair/Restoration/Conservation: None. · Chips/Dents: Chip to RHS dog on paw at rear 10mm x 10mm in size. · Cracks: Two glazed firing cracks (not impact damage) see images. · Other notes: A relatively scarce mould and size. They are a well decorated pair with only minor wear. A nice addition and would look good in a graduated set.
